Lunasol Fall 2011 Modeling Cheeks EX02 (Soft Coral)

I am now joining the Lunasol bandwagon with the ladies whose blogs I follow and adore. I recently picked up 2 Lunasol products. :D YAYYYY!!!! I will do a separate post on each with my initial impressions and thoughts on the products.

Lunasol Fall 2011 Modeling Cheeks EX02

Soft Coral

Swatches.

Swatched on MAC NC30 skin.

Swatch of all the colors blended together.

NOTE: All pictures were taken under artificial lighting.

EX02 is a peach-coral shade depending on how you apply or layer the colors of the blush. It has shimmers that are barely noticeable. If any, the shimmers just give a very lovely and healthy glow when applied! The pigmentation is rather sheer but buildable. The finish is very natural and pretty. It will make you look like you are blooming.

It feels so nice to the touch - almost creamy and soft - its powder has been finely milled along with the shimmers (fear not, the shimmers won't scratch nor bother you).

The blush case/compact and the blush are sold separately. You may opt not to buy the compact and just get the blush. I however, seriously need a compact for this. The Lunasol counter I visited ran out of stocks so I just bought the blush without the pan. I have an excuse to go back to their counter now.. :P

So much for not buying any blushers till I hit a pan. LOL! xD

Paparazzi at Edsa Shangri-La - Food Glorious Food! :D

Great food for those who want an amazing dining experience. I will leave the pictures speak for their price. Hopefully, the pictures will somewhat help justify such an extravagant luxury.

Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA +++ UVA

Writing about sunblocks on October.
You might wonder if we still need sunblock during the fall and winter months? My dermatologist says we still do, because the sun still shines all year round and our skin is still exposed to UV rays.

My favorite sunblock.
I instantly fell in love with this product after I received samples when I purchased some skincare products from Kiehl's a while back, but the price tag kept me from buying a tube. I later reasoned to myself that this product also makes a good makeup base. I did consider buying a tube, but my mom gave me one before I have gotten around to purchasing it. (YAY!)

Comes in a white that I like for it's simplicity and effectiveness.

The product goes on smoothly and blends perfectly unto the skin.

PROS:
- Not greasy and does not feel sticky at all.
- Can be used under makeup or as a makeup base.
- Does not form into chunks and balls under makeup.
- The scent is subtle and does not bother me at all.
- Easy to blend and quickly absorbed by the skin.
- Did not break me out.

CONS:
- Besides the price I cannot think of any. The 30 ml tube costs around 1,900++Php and the 50ml tube is around 2,900++Php

OVERALL:
I love it! If you are looking for a good sunblock that works while not giving you that ton of gunk piled on your face feeling, I highly suggest that you give this a try.

Heads up! Kiehl's, Greenbelt is having a two day 15% off sale on October 22-23 on all items. Loyalty Club members gets the first dibs on the sale on October 21. :D

Update - I'm still here! + thoughts

Hello everyone. I apologize for going MIA without notice but the past week has been a really busy one. I do hope everyone is doing well because I haven't had a chance to visit your blogs yet.

---------------------—-------------------

This evening I saw several missed calls on my cellphone from our ex-driver. We had to let him go a couple or so months ago due to his recklessness and stubbornness. I already dreaded the thought of calling back... Something about unexpected phone calls makes me uneasy. I attribute it to the fact that I have learned about the passing away of close relatives through unexpected calls; also, for some strange reason people always call me upon learning about death/s in their family. (What the EFFff, right?!?) They call me when they're not themselves and bawling.. :/

When I called him back he told me he was working at some far away place and that his new born child got infected with some disease and that the baby just died. He said he had no one to talk to. He was crying while he told me that he never got to see the baby alive and was probably as drunk as hell because I couldn't understand half of what he was telling me but I tried to listen, because I didn't have much to say. One thing in learned when my brother died was that there are no right words to tell someone who just lost a loved one. Incase the person decides to talk to you, the best and only thing that you can do to help is to listen.
Like most people who have worked for my family, he's been with us for 10 years or more. Due to his problem with alcohol and drugs he's been with us on and off. But I knew he was saving up for the baby because I kept a certain portion of his salary for that purpose.

The infant died because of lack of medical attention; they didn't have money to pay the hospital bill. I wish he could have called me earlier but he was probably too confused and too worried. I did wonder how many infants die due to lack of money and medical attention though.
I told him to be strong for the rest of his family and to comfort his wife. I told him not to argue with her because they both just lost a child, but neither of them was at fault.I wish she wouldn't blame herself like one of my friends did years ago. Yes, I've had quite a few callers with similar cases. Sigh...
He kept apologizing for bothering me and kept saying he wanted to speak to someone who was rational and could help him clear his mind. Well, well lucky me!! I suppose that's a compliment but I'm I'm not so sure If I want to take more of those calls.

I hope I was somewhat able to help. I remember when my brother died last April people kept asking and I kept giving them blank stares. I did tell friends that he's gone and they should come if they wanted to but that's it.

Loosing a child is not easy. Especially to the parents who are looking forward to spending more time and watching him/her grow and get older.

I believe, all deaths are painful... Each in their own way, to the people who get left behind and mourn for reasons only they can answer. Yet, with every death comes peace for those who leave this life ,because they no longer feel the pain and burden of being alive.

I pray that the little one finds eternal peace...

Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 719 Hibiscus

I hate taking pictures and swatches of used products without their original packaging. I am however making an exception right now, because this was handed down to me by my mom and I think the color is absolutely gorgeous! The case is quite bulky, and is a scratch and dust magnet. It looks glamorous and it is sturdy but I'm not fond of all the scratches that it has collected. :/

Product Description - Glamour, comfort and irresistible, kiss-me lips with Joli Rouge. Moisturizes and smoothes, gives intense colour and flawless hold.

The lipstick is embossed with the Clarins trademark. There's a lot of product inside the tube.

Scent - It has a scent which reminds me of cosmetics older people use as with some high end cosmetics. Something I am not a fan of. :/

Lasting Power - About 4-6 hours on its own without a lip balm and a lipstick and does not easily come off after eating, drinking, etc...

swatch, swiped once.

It's a lovely red-berry colour with gold/orange micro-shimmers. I would say that this color can be sheer or as full coverage as you would want it to be - it can be built with several layers without clumping and does not emphasize fine lines.
It will not make your lips look like a disco ball and gives a lovely sheen without a lipgloss!
The formula is nourishing but not and will not dry the lips but not as moisturizing as my favorite lipstick. It is quite creamy and does not feel gritty despite the shimmers on the lipstick. It's also very light and does not feel heavy on the lips.

I think this lipstick will also look better on people with cool skintones. But let's see if I can make it work for me:

Please ignore the upper lip hair and the smudged lipstick.

A picture of me wearing Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 719, Hibiscus.
I read somewhere that Asian girls must have nerdy-geeky pictures taken with glasses so here's my version, LOL! I am wearing my glasses which I never really wear in public because I think it makes me look older, or, ahem my age. :P
I always use the same products for my FOTDs. :) Please refer to my older posts for the list of makeup items I've used.

Testing... Practice - 1,2,3...

Hello everyone! There's another typhoon here in my country and I've been staying indoors a lot. I was rather bored and saw some pictures of blinged cellular phones so I tried to bling out a spare case too. =) I just coudn't justify spending $80-$100 on a case.

Finished bling-bling case.
Not perfect but I had to work on this for hours hahaha! xD I hope you'll be lenient with your comments. LOL! Do you want a tutorial or would you like a case giveaway? :) Do let me know.

Have a great weekend and keep safe! :D
